For those of you who follow my blog in the UK you will know what I mean when I say today has been an essential hairspray wearing day! For those of you who follow me in warmer climates, the weather has been decidedly wet here in England! It is with this in mind that my post for today is on hairspray!
Hairspray is a product that I would never usually splurge on, usually favouring cheaper brands such as Elnett. However, I decided to treat myself to a ‘high end’ hairspray and am now in a position to give a pretty honest review!
So, is this hairspray noticeably different? Well rather unsurprisingly yes it is!
This hairspray is a weightless micro-fine finishing spray that provides a buildable hold to secure and define my hairstyle. It holds my updos well and smoothes flyaway ends. The hairspray is not heavy and can be layered for increased control. It boasts UV inhibitors to help shield my hair from everyday factors such as the sun and pollution. Most importantly the spray is safe for use on my colour treated hair. It has a beautiful soft fragrance of green floral petals that is not at all cloying.
The spray system works well, and delivers an even coat of the hairspray. It does not leave my hair feeling hard and sticky and does not need brushing out at the end of the day – yet still manages to hold my style. What more can I ask for?!
Whilst using cheaper brands gives perfectly acceptable results, if you are looking at trying a more expensive brand in the future then I would recommend this hairspray as one to try.
The Shu Uemura Art of Hair Sheer Lacquer is priced at £21.50.
