I have a particular love for Hourglass products. My first purchase was the Ambient Lighting Powder last year and I have incorporated it into my makeup routine ever since! One might say I am hooked! I love the dewy finish it gives to my skin, and the subtle yet somehow striking effects of the blusher. For todays post, I wanted to share with you all the first look and my initial thoughts on Incandescent Electra Blusher and the Ambient Lighting Luminous Bronzer. Both are from the Hourglass Summer 2015 collection and the good news is that they will be part of the regular line from now on!
First up is Incandescent Electra. A beautiful blusher that breaks away from the usual flat colour. This blusher contains optically transparent particles that illuminate and brighten the complexion. Hourglass state that this blush is a pretty peach shade that creates a natural soft focus colour that is buildable, so you can either have a soft pretty glow or an intense glow.
I have swatched the blusher for you below. It is a very delicate colour and is almost undetectable on my hand. It is very light and gives more of a glow than a ‘recognisable’ blush. It is like no other blusher I own and is simply beautiful. I am looking forward to playing around with this shade.
Next up is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light. This is a really pretty bronzer that mixes the illuminating effects that Hourglass are famous for with bronze pigments to give a natural, sun-kissed glow. This results in a sheer formula that gives the appearance of healthy looking radiant skin. It is available in 2 shades; Radiant Bronze Light in Warm Bronze and Luminous Bronze Light in Medium Tan. I chose the Luminous Bronze Light as it is ideal for fair/light complexions.
Above shows the beautiful hand blended pigments ( apologies for the obvious patch in the middle where I have tested it! I couldn’t wait to swatch it!)
Below is a swatch of the bronzer. This is an unblended swatch to give an indication of the colour.
Hopefully I will love these two new additions to my makeup bag as much as I have loved other Hourglass products. My first impressions are good so I am sure I will!
Hourglass is available online on various different websites including Space NK and Sephora.
The blusher is priced at £28.00 and the bronzer is priced at £42.00
I would love to hear from you if you love Hourglass and can recommend any new products from the collection.
Talk to you all soon x
