Dolly Baby Lipstick – Rosie For Autograph at Marks & Spencer | Lipstick Monday!

I can’t quite believe it is Monday again, but writing this post always cheers me up! For todays lipstick choice I wanted a colour that was relatively low-key but one that would make my face look put together and polished.

Rosie for Autograph in Dolly Baby was the colour that I was drawn to and I have thoroughly enjoyed wearing it for the first time today.  A lovely rose coloured nude pink that really is like no other in my collection.  The argan oil used in the lipstick really soothed my lips and made application a dream.  I did not use a lip liner in the pictures above, however Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk would work wonderfully well with this colour.

I applied this in the morning before leaving for work, and it lasted a good 5 hours before the need for reapplication.

Priced at £14.00 this lipstick is a real bargain.  I make it no secret how much I adore the Rosie for Autograph collection and this is yet another product that I would add to my favourites list.

Have you tried Dolly Baby from Rosie’s makeup collection? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Lancôme Juicy Shaker Lip Gloss – Walk The Lime Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

I have been so excited about this latest offering from Lancôme ever since watching Lisa Eldridge share it with us all on YouTube.  They finally hit the shelves last Monday, and I am pleased to report they exceed my expectations!

The Juicy Shaker lip gloss is like no other lip product I own.  It is called a lip gloss, but it certainly doesn’t feel like one.  This lip gloss has a bi phased formula that combines nourishing oils with beautiful pigments for plump but natural looking, glossy lips. The oils contain sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil that just sink into my lips.  I have read about lip oils in the past, but have never tried one until now.

The Juicy Shaker is a cross between the 1945 shaker lipstick and the iconic Juicy Tubes from the 1990’s.  Before application it is important to shake the Juicy Shaker well.  It has two little ball bearings in the tube that make for a very satisfying noise when doing so! This process helps to mix the oils together making it just right for application.  Once you are satisfied the colour has mixed, twist open the lid to reveal the cushion applicator that has absorbed just the right amount of pigment. The shape of the applicator makes application a dream and makes applying in the corners of your mouth as easy as the fullest part.

So, would I recommend the Lancôme Juicy Shaker? I most certainly would!

There were not a great deal of colours left when I hit the Lancôme counter, but I decided to try Walk the Lime. In the shaker it looks very orange but on application the orange is not strong and is flattering on my cool skin tone. The lime scent is not strong, but is detectable. The nourishing oils make this product non sticky and non drying and the finish is very pretty.  The oils plump up my lips and hide any fine lines my lips naturally have.  Application is very easy and a mirror is not a necessity as it is so sheer.  I am looking forward to trying out some more colours in the collection and seeing if the colours look more visible on my lips. I would recommend trying these out if you get the opportunity.  The  formula would be perfect for wearing in the day and giving that pretty spring finish!

The staying power is not particularly great, but when the product is such a dream to apply this doesn’t bother me in the slightest!

You can purchase the Lancôme Juicy Shaker for £18.00.

Have you been able to try this product out? I would love to hear any recommendations of colours for me to try out!

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense 06 Roomiest Rose Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

This colour is gorgeous, don’t you think?! A lovely deep rose that is an absolute joy to wear. I decided to wear this colour today as I wanted something that was easy to wear yet add a little colour to my complexion, and this colour certainly did just that.

I got this Chubby Stick as part of a Bonus Time deal.  I had not used it until today and can’t help but wonder what took me so long. The formula glides on effortlessly and has a balm like texture on the lips.  The Intense Chubby Sticks are available in 8 shades that each deliver full coverage in divinely rich shades.  Lips are immediately moisturised and left with a glossy sheen. Roomiest Rose belongs to the ‘Pinks’ colour group and it looks very flattering on me as it has cool undertones.

I have always been a fan of the Clinique Chubby sticks, but have found that whilst the colours look pretty in the tubes, they don’t show up on the lips. Thats why I am particularly excited to have discovered the Intense collection, as I get all the benefits the Chubby Sticks offer, with the bonus that the colour pay off is excellent too!

I applied this colour before leaving the house for work, and it lasted surprisingly well! I did get some transfer on my coffee cup but it still left a faint stain of the rose colour, and the pencil formula makes for easy reapplication so this was no issue at all.

Application was very easy as the colour feels like it melts onto my lips. It was easy to stick within the lip line, and the colour did not bleed.

You can purchase the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense for £17.00 from Clinique counters nationwide.  I am super excited (albeit my purse is not!) at discovering this fabulous lip product, and can’t wait to pass a Clinique counter where I will be testing out other colours in the range…and maybe even make a purchase (or two!)

If you are looking for a new lipstick that has spring written all over it, then look no further!

Have you tried any of the Clinique Chubby Sticks from the Intense collection? I would love to hear from you if you can recommend any colours for me to try.

MAC Hue Lipstick Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

For todays post I am sharing with you all a little look at the MAC Hue Glaze Lipstick.  I have had this lipstick for some time and used it after a long hiatus today.  I was drawn to this colour as I just wanted a natural low key look on my lips, and this lipstick was perfect for achieving just that.

MAC Hue is a lovely pale pink peachy nude that works particularly well with a smokey eye. I do however find that this lipstick picks up every line on my lips, and I don’t find this quality particularly flattering. I think I would achieve a better quality finish applying a lip liner first to act as a base and also darken the colour a little.

I applied this in the morning, and it only lasted about an hour.  As the finish is so sheer it was very easy to reapply so I did not find that this was a problem.

I have very pigmented lips and found this colour a little too pale for me, but if you are fairer you may be able to make this work.  In future I plan to use this to lift matte lipsticks.  I am particularly looking forward to trying it over MAC Velvet Teddy.

You can purchase the MAC Hue lipstick for £15.50 from MAC counters nationwide.

Have you tried this lipstick? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Charlotte Tilbury Portobello Girl Lip Lustre Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

With the brighter days of Spring fast approaching (oh how I am looking forward to this!) I decided to break from my usual tradition of wearing a lipstick and wear a lipgloss. Yes thats right, a lipgloss alone with no lip liner or lipstick! Quite a change for me, but what better product to use than Charlotte Tilbury Portobello Girl.  A lovely high gloss pink that looks lovely over lip products and just as pretty on its own!

The Charlotte Tilbury lip lustre is perfect for a wide range of ages as it creates the optical illusion of youthful fuller lips.  I applied lip lustre in the morning just as I was leaving the house.  It did not leave me with the feeling one usually has when wearing lip gloss, in fact I actually found it to be quite hydrating and soothing which is quite unexpected. The Lip Lustre did not last past my first drink in the office, but with the colour being so natural it was easy to re-apply at my desk without using a mirror!

I have rather full lips, but would recommend this gloss if you want to achieve the look of fuller lips. You could try dabbing a little in the centre of your lip to add some dimension.

You can purchase the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl for £16.50 from Charlotte Tilbury counters and online. I plan to do a tutorial soon on how I achieve the ‘perfect pink lip’ using this lip gloss and my Coachella Coral lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury. These two products work so well together, but its lovely to know they work well on their own too!

Have you tried Portobello Girl Lip Lustre? Do you have a favourite lipstick to wear it with? I would love to hear from you!

Rosie for Autograph at Marks & Spencer Lady Rose Lipstick Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

I literally couldn’t wait to share with you this review.  I am planning to do a haul this week showing you my shiny new makeup products from the Rosie Huntington-Whitely collection, but I am giving you a little taste of what is to come! For that reason, Lipstick Monday is a short one this week, but nevertheless, welcome to my lipstick of the day!

Rosie Huntington-Whitely is hot news right now.  When I discovered she was creating a makeup line for Marks & Spencer, I stalked the beauty section of my local store for quite some time waiting patiently to sample the collection for myself.  Lady Rose is a beautiful rose nude lipstick that is universally flattering.  I was looking for a colour that would be effortless to apply and be appropriate for everyday wear.  I wore this colour today and first impressions are certainly good!

The packaging is very Charlotte Tilbury with on trend rose gold detail.  I will go into more detail when I share my collection later on this week.

The formula was soft with good colour payoff.  I applied the lipstick in the morning, and whilst it did not last much past my first coffee of the morning, it was easy to re-apply so this was not an issue.  It left my lips feeling drenched in moisture and wonderfully soft.  I really couldn’t ask for more.

You can purchase this lipstick in Lady Rose from Marks & Spencer.  I have not felt this excited about a new makeup collection since I first set eyes on Charlotte Tilbury, and I recommend taking a look next time you are out shopping.  You can purchase the lipstick for £14.00.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick In Lovesick Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

I have had my eye on the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks for quite some time now, and this particular shade (Lovesick) seems to sell out at Sephora almost instantly. I had registered interest in this shade online, and when I had the email to say it was in stock decided that was the time to do my first Sephora shop of 2016!

My Sephora order arrived very quickly and I was planning on doing a haul post and sharing with you what I had ordered including the Kat Von D makeup setting mist.  Unfortunately however this leaked all over my order and ruined the contents of it which is a real shame, but on the upside this lipstick survived!

The lipstick comes in a relatively long tube with an extra long applicator to match.  This made applying the lipstick relatively easy.  I would say it is important (with any liquid lipstick not just the Kat Von D’s) that you apply very neatly to your lips and avoid the temptation some people have to enhance the lips by applying slightly beyond the lip line.  This is because when the lipstick dries it becomes very apparent!

Lovesick is a lovely rosey pink that is very flattering to wear.  It reminds me ever so slightly of Sandwash Pink by Bobbi Brown with its earthy tones.

I applied this lipstick in the morning and it lasted relatively well.  It did need a top up to keep it looking tidy but this was more out of choice than necessity.

A little tip I would  give to make this lipstick look its best is to ensure you have exfoliated and moisturised your lips well before application.  The very nature of this lipstick is that it is drying and this makes it unforgiving to any rough patches.

Getting my ‘kiss’ swatch was rather difficult as it dried and wouldn’t transfer at all! It was also difficult to wipe off my hand after I had swatched it.

I would recommend this lipstick to all, and I can certainly see why this shade is so popular. I wouldn’t necessarily rush to buy another one purely because there are not many muted colours to choose from.   I would however love it if you could recommend any other pretty shades for me to try.

Kat Von D Lovesick Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Review Swatch
