Nothing screams luxury quite like Tom Ford. Not only is he the king of lipstick but in my eyes he can wear the crown for nail polish too! Nude colours have long been my ‘thing’ and when I saw the shade Toasted Sugar last year my heart quite literally skipped a beat. The perfect natural canvas shade with just the right amount of colour to prevent it being unflattering.
Before I go into more detail about the formula, I must touch upon how beautiful the packaging is. Well, it is Tom Ford, we would expect nothing less would we?! The bottle is square with gold detailing and the shape of the bottle makes the polish easy to hold when applying the colour to the nail.
The brush applicator is nice and long, and the brush itself is long and thin. The polish is a nice consistency and glides onto the nails effortlessly.
The manicure pictured above is achieved using two coats of Tom Ford Toasted Sugar finished with a top coat.
I really can’t fault this nail polish, however it is rather pricey at £27.00. The good news is that I have found a colour that is an excellent dupe and priced at only £4.99. Tanya Burr Peaches & Cream is perfect for those who love this particular shade!
I have reviewed the Tanya Burr Peaches & Cream polish in more detail here. But as you can see, the colours are very similar. Obviously there is no doubt that the Tom Ford colour is much better quality and lasts over a week without chipping. This for me, is priceless and makes the price tag worth paying. However as you can see, if it is the colour you are after then perhaps the Tanya Burr polish may be worth looking out for!
I really hope you find this useful! Do you agree with me that this polish is a good dupe? I would love to hear from you!

It’s exciting times here at Pretty Honest HQ. Christmas is coming and that means one thing. It’s officially the season of gift buying! I would love to write a Christmas Gift Edit but the ladies I buy for read my blog, and I don’t want to give away their presents! This is however, the perfect opportunity to do a mini review on this lovely product. The Lush Magic Wand. I was given this as a present recently, and used it today for the fist time.
I love nothing more than a Lush Bath Bomb but they can be quite expensive when they are single use. The Magic Wand is not only pretty to look at but also excellent value for money as it is reusable. Fill the bath with warm water and wave this wand in the water to release a lovely burst of candy floss scented bubbles. For bigger bubbles run the wand under running water. The result is simply heavenly. A bath filled with the scent of Snow Fairy.
After using this wand, pop it on the side (I use a soap dish) to dry out for next time.
The Magic Wand Reusable Bubble Bar is priced at £5.25. It lasts for approximately 10-12 uses. You do have to be very careful with the stick as it doesn’t feel like it holds the weight of the star very well. However, if it did break it wouldn’t be a huge problem as it would still be useable.
This is a lovely Christmas or Secret Santa gift to give to friends or family. Don’t forget to tell them to make a wish!

I’m loving Monday’s at the moment, purely because I get to share with you all a lipstick that has cheered me up during the day. Today I was in the mood for a cool toned rose colour and NYX Tea Rose in a matte formula ticked all the right boxes!
I love NYX lipsticks. They are wonderfully pigmented and glide on effortlessly. They are also excellent value for money at £8.00, and come in a wide range of colours.
I love the transparent packaging that gives away the colour inside. Sometimes it’s the small things that make all the difference!
As you can see from the swatches above, the colour is beautifully opaque. I find it super flattering on my pale skin tone and it brings out the green in my eyes. It is a matte lipstick but is not drying. I would say if you like a very matte colour then this is not the lipstick for you. It has a slight sheen to it but this does not bother me, in fact I quite like it! This is a beautiful lipstick for Autumn as it brightens up my complexion and adds a lovely touch of colour without looking too full on. It lasted for a good few hours, but did leave the tell tale lipstick marks on my coffee cup! I am still impressed with the overall finish of the product and can’t wait to buy a few more colours.
So there we have it, a beautiful rose pink lipstick that offers not only excellent value but one that applies smoothly and lasts for a pretty respectable 3-4 hours.
Can you recommend another NYX colour for me to try? I would love to hear your suggestions!
