I have been so excited about sharing this post with you all! My love of lipstick has officially hit dizzy new heights when I took receipt of the new Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Collection last week. I pre-ordered this set a week before release and counted down the seconds for release day! Hot Lips by Charlotte Tilbury channels everything that I love about lipstick. It draws upon its ability to make you feel empowered, change your state of mind, boost your confidence and pick you up when you’re feeling down. From the natural ‘my lips but better’ Liv It Up to an utterly beautiful ‘look at me’ Hell’s Bells.

Take A Look At My Pretty Little Haul From MAC! – MAC Charlotte Olympia Collection Review & Swatch

It has been some time since I bought anything from MAC, but the Charlotte Olympia collection was one that I just could not resist! Charlotte Olympia is the queen of retro and glamour from a bygone era.

Last week saw the release of the collection here in the UK, and I eagerly waited to place my order! I originally wanted a cute little mirror for my work handbag but unfortunately this sold out before I got the chance to purchase the contents in my basket! However, I had more luck with the rest and I chose two pieces from the collection, one nail polish and one lipstick.

First up, lets talk lips! I have enough red lipstick to literally last me a lifetime however that doesn’t seem to stop me buying (all in the name of blog research!)

There were three lipsticks to choose from, and I chose Leading Lady Red. A perfect red lipstick for the femme fatale look. This is a classic matte finish and easy to apply.  I feel this shade has slight orange undertones and for that reason isn’t as flattering on me as some other lipsticks I have however I can still make this work.  The image above is applied straight from the bullet with no lip liner.  The lipstick is slightly more expensive than the regular line at £17.00, however for the packaging I feel it is worth it.  It has the sweet vanilla scent that MAC do so well, and so far has been a real joy to wear.

I also treated myself to a nail polish in To Have Or Have Not.  At £11.00 this is a real bargain and one I just couldn’t resist! Again, this has slight orange undertones.  It glides on effortlessly and has a real high shine – the image above is without a topcoat. The brush is a nice length and holds the polish well to prevent streaking.  Nail lacquer is not something I would usually buy from MAC, however I am pleasantly surprised by the overall  finish.

The packaging is absolutely divine.  The transparent lipstick tube looks very retro.  I love the spiderweb detailing and the boxes the products come in are just too cute to throw away!

There are a few pieces left in the MAC Charlotte Olympia collection – including the lipsticks,  so if you are interested make sure you are quick!

Did you treat yourself to any pieces from this collection? I would love to hear from you!

A Sophisticated Scent Like No Other – My Thoughts On Jo Malone Amber & Patchouli Cologne Intense

Nothing screams luxury quite like Jo Malone.  From the sumptuous packaging to the beautiful scents, it really is hard to find something I don’t like about the brand.

I fell in love with this scent after my Mum was given it for Christmas. I found myself becoming quite addicted to the unusual warm notes, and finding it had a strangely calming affect on my mood during the day.  I therefore decided to treat myself to a bottle at Jo Malone online.  I have bought online from them many times before and always find the service spot on. Delivery is quick and the perfume is well packaged including the tissue paper, box and bag so you certainly don’t miss out on the little extra touches by buying online.

My new favourite scent is Amber & Patchouli from the Cologne Intense collection.  This perfume combines the opulence of amber and the exotic union of sensuous patchouli. It  gives a supple, suede like finish and is wonderfully warm and seductive.

Amber & Patchouli is a unisex fragrance suitable for every day use.  Some people say this scent does not offer longevity, however when I spray this behind my ears I can still detect a hint of the scent up to when I next wash my hair.

This is a delightfully sophisticated scent, and has become my new go-to favourite. It is a very unusual scent, and one that will not linger after you have left the room but one that will be detectable to people you are near to.  It is a warm fragrance that is slightly woody, deep with a hint of spice.

Amber & Patchouli is priced at  £105.00 for a 100ml bottle.  It is expensive but utterly worth the splurge.

You can purchase the scent here.

Have you tried a scent from the Intense Cologne collection? I would love to hear your thoughts!

The Perfect Pink Kiss By Charlotte Tilbury | Makeup Tutorial

The Perfect Pink Kiss makeup set by Charlotte Tilbury most definitely lives up to the name.  This set contains everything you need for a naturally pretty three dimensional lip. These products make the perfect lip created by Charlotte for many models and celebrities within reaching distance!

This set contains a Lip Cheat Liner in Pink Venus, K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Coachella Coral and Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl.  These three products literally transform your lips, and I share with you below how the products work together.

First of all I apply my EOS lip balm.  I do this before applying any lipstick or lip product as it helps to create a smooth lip.  I then use my Pink Venus lip cheat and start by applying to my cupids bow.  I was never a fan of using a lip liner until I fell in love with Charlotte Tilbury.  She made me realise that this really is the key behind a flawless finish.  Not only does it help prolong my lipstick but it also helps even out my lips.  Everyone is born with uneven lips and the lip cheat helps to even out any imperfections.  When I am happy with the finish, I apply my K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Coachella Coral.  This is a beautiful bright coral shade that quite literally lights up my face.  Coral is not usually a colour I can carry off, but this particular shade is very flattering.  To finish off this look, I apply my Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl.  This is a lovely pink gloss that I have shared with you all recently. Layered over Coachella Coral really brings out the pink undertones of the lipstick and transforms the look into a pretty delicate pink.  For this particular look I applied the gloss all over the lips, but you could also just dab a little into the centre to enhance what you have and create the illusion of fuller lips.

This set is priced at £49.00 and is available exclusively from Charlotte Tilbury online.  The items are also available separately. The finish is appropriate for any occasion and looks just as pretty worn every day as it does for a special occasion. I absolutely love every item I have used here, and each one works well when used with other makeup I have.

Do you like the finish these products give? Have you tired these Charlotte Tilbury products? I would love to hear from you!

First Look At The New Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks | Between The Sheets & Kiss Chase Review & Swatches

Its no secret, I love Charlotte Tilbury! There has been a real buzz on social media about the much anticipated release of two new additions to her Matte Revolution and K.I.S.S.I.N.G collection, not only because of the new colours but also because Charlotte launched a competition to let us name them.  The names chosen were Between The Sheets and Kiss Chase.  I have to agree, they are fabulous names and fit in with her brand so very well!

Naturally, when my inbox buzzed with the news that these new lipsticks were available to buy I couldn’t help but place an order, and they arrived yesterday – with much excitement on my part!

I will start with Matte Revolution Between The Sheets. Charlotte describes this formula as a cashmere cream texture with a soft matte finish. The lipstick is enriched with Papaya and Orchid to help makes lips appear fuller, wider and lit from within thanks to 3D glowing pigments. The colour is a vintage rose petal that gives a really pretty finish.

Between the Sheets was really easy to apply.  I particularly love the shape of the lipsticks and find they make applying lipstick cleanly around the cupids bow a dream. This shade is a really natural daytime look that gives a really polished finish.

Next up is the shade Kiss Chase from the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Fallen From The Lipstick Tree collection. A lovely tawny berry hue that really makes your face pop. The K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks are enriched with lipstick tree extract and are cashmere soft making them a dream to apply.

Charlotte does recommend applying the lipsticks with a lip cheat (lip liner) that compliments the colour.  The swatches above are applied straight from the bullet and I am yet to try with a lip liner.  This will only compliment the colours more so I am looking forward to trying this out.  As you can see though, the colours even on their own are stunning!

Between The Sheets and Kiss Chase are part of two new ‘Looks’ created by Charlotte Tilbury. First Date and Hot Date.  I would recommend taking a look at her YouTube channel accessed via her website for a full makeover using these shades.  I am totally in love with them both and can’t wait to try them out next week!

The lipsticks are individually priced at £23.00.  I bought the two as part of the Date Night Duo set for £42.00. They are available exclusively online from Charlotte Tilbury.

I hope you enjoyed taking a first look at my new lipsticks. If you have any questions, don’t  hesitate to get in touch as I love hearing from you!

Lush Haul | Snow Fairy Body Wash, The Comforter Body Wash, Salted Coconut Hand Scrub and Golden Handshake Hot Hand Mask

Lush Haul 2015 The Comforter Body Wash Snow Fairy Body Wash, Golden Hand Shake Hand Mask Salted Coconut Hand scrub review

It has been a busy shopping week here at Pretty Honest HQ! A Space NK haul yesterday and Lush today! Just like Space NK, Lush is another shop I simply can’t walk away from empty handed! So, inside my little brown bag is a selection of body washes and hand products.  So lets see what caught my eye!

Lush Haul 2015 The Comforter Body Wash Snow Fairy Body Wash, Golden Handshake Hand Mask Salted Coconut Hand scrub review

I love a ‘at home’ manicure and I am always on the lookout for products to try out.  Salted Coconut Hand Scrub (£7.95) is a lovely creamy coconut scented scrub that just transforms my hands.  If you have slightly dry hands and are looking for a product to instantly transform them in seconds then look no further.  I take a small amount in my hands and gently massage under running warm water.  I would recommend taking full advantage of the benefits of how this scrub leaves your hands immediately after and apply a generous helping of hand cream.  I can honestly say two days later my hands are still dramatically softer.  I cannot recommend this hand scrub highly enough!

Next up is a product I am yet to try.  The Golden Handshake Hot Hand Mask is a waxy product that melts in hot water to create a thick creamy lotion that you can soak your hands in.  I will review in detail when I try this out (you won’t have long to wait..I am so excited to find the time to try it!) This is a real bargain at £2.95.

Finally are two products that I picked up near the counter! As you may know from reading my blog, I am a fan of The Comforter Bubble Bar, so picked up the shower gel in the same scent.  It is a lovely blackcurrant scent and lathers up beautifully! I also picked up the Snow Fairy Body Wash. If you are a Lush fan I am sure you will agree with me that nothing spells out Christmas more than this product, does it?!  A lovely candy floss scented body wash that fills the bathroom with a lovely sweet scent. it is very rare that I can still detect the scent on my body throughout the day but I certainly can with these.  I bought the smaller bottles (100ml) and they are priced at £3.95 for the Snow Fairy and £4.95 for The Comforter.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my Lush haul as much as I enjoyed buying it! My only regret was not buying a bath bomb (or two….or six!) so I can confirm that bath bombs are on my shopping list for this weekend! I would love to hear any recommendations if you have any!

Space NK Haul | Artis Elite Collection Circle 1R Makeup Brush and Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray

Space NK Haul Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray Artis Elite Collection Circle 1R Brush

No matter how hard I try I am unable to walk out of Space NK empty handed. My recent trip was no different and I walked out with two items I just can’t wait to try out!

Artis Elite Collection Circle 1R Brush review Space NK Haul

Artis makeup brush Elite Collection Circle 1R

I wasn’t thinking of buying a new makeup brush, but these particular ones caught my eye. I couldn’t figure out what exactly these brushes were at first glance as they are so different to any other brush I have seen before.  These brushes are designed to fit the shape of our hands when applying our own makeup.  They come in a large array of sizes from foundation and powder brushes to eyeshadow and eyeliner brushes.  I chose the Circle 1R.  It has a tilt from the handle and a round fibre brush that provides a soft yet focused finish.  This particular brush applies the product into the creases of my lids softly to help sculpt them and give an airbrushed finish.  It can also be used on other small areas such as the corners of the eye and beside the nostrils. I must admit my first thought was to use this as a lip brush so that I can work the lipstick into my lips but I am thinking this brush is almost too good for that.  I am looking forward to giving this a try and will update with a review as soon I have tried it out.

Space NK Haul Oribe Thick Finishing Spray review

Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray Space NK Haul

Next up is a hair product. I am really enjoying using my Oribe haircare collection at the moment, so couldn’t resist adding this to my collection. The Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray is perfect for plumping up my hair.  I thought this would be perfect for when I put my hair in ponytail and want to add a little volume on the crown. Again, I will give this a try and share with you all my thoughts.

The Oribe Thick Dry Finishing Spray is priced at £36.00 and the Artis Circle 1R Elite Collection brush is priced at £25.00

Hope you enjoyed my Space NK Haul! I can’t wait to try them out and share with you my findings!
