Lancôme Juicy Shaker Lip Gloss – Walk The Lime Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

I have been so excited about this latest offering from Lancôme ever since watching Lisa Eldridge share it with us all on YouTube.  They finally hit the shelves last Monday, and I am pleased to report they exceed my expectations!

The Juicy Shaker lip gloss is like no other lip product I own.  It is called a lip gloss, but it certainly doesn’t feel like one.  This lip gloss has a bi phased formula that combines nourishing oils with beautiful pigments for plump but natural looking, glossy lips. The oils contain sweet almond oil, omega 3 and cranberry oil that just sink into my lips.  I have read about lip oils in the past, but have never tried one until now.

The Juicy Shaker is a cross between the 1945 shaker lipstick and the iconic Juicy Tubes from the 1990’s.  Before application it is important to shake the Juicy Shaker well.  It has two little ball bearings in the tube that make for a very satisfying noise when doing so! This process helps to mix the oils together making it just right for application.  Once you are satisfied the colour has mixed, twist open the lid to reveal the cushion applicator that has absorbed just the right amount of pigment. The shape of the applicator makes application a dream and makes applying in the corners of your mouth as easy as the fullest part.

So, would I recommend the Lancôme Juicy Shaker? I most certainly would!

There were not a great deal of colours left when I hit the Lancôme counter, but I decided to try Walk the Lime. In the shaker it looks very orange but on application the orange is not strong and is flattering on my cool skin tone. The lime scent is not strong, but is detectable. The nourishing oils make this product non sticky and non drying and the finish is very pretty.  The oils plump up my lips and hide any fine lines my lips naturally have.  Application is very easy and a mirror is not a necessity as it is so sheer.  I am looking forward to trying out some more colours in the collection and seeing if the colours look more visible on my lips. I would recommend trying these out if you get the opportunity.  The  formula would be perfect for wearing in the day and giving that pretty spring finish!

The staying power is not particularly great, but when the product is such a dream to apply this doesn’t bother me in the slightest!

You can purchase the Lancôme Juicy Shaker for £18.00.

Have you been able to try this product out? I would love to hear any recommendations of colours for me to try out!

The Perfect Pink Kiss By Charlotte Tilbury | Makeup Tutorial

The Perfect Pink Kiss makeup set by Charlotte Tilbury most definitely lives up to the name.  This set contains everything you need for a naturally pretty three dimensional lip. These products make the perfect lip created by Charlotte for many models and celebrities within reaching distance!

This set contains a Lip Cheat Liner in Pink Venus, K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Coachella Coral and Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl.  These three products literally transform your lips, and I share with you below how the products work together.

First of all I apply my EOS lip balm.  I do this before applying any lipstick or lip product as it helps to create a smooth lip.  I then use my Pink Venus lip cheat and start by applying to my cupids bow.  I was never a fan of using a lip liner until I fell in love with Charlotte Tilbury.  She made me realise that this really is the key behind a flawless finish.  Not only does it help prolong my lipstick but it also helps even out my lips.  Everyone is born with uneven lips and the lip cheat helps to even out any imperfections.  When I am happy with the finish, I apply my K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Coachella Coral.  This is a beautiful bright coral shade that quite literally lights up my face.  Coral is not usually a colour I can carry off, but this particular shade is very flattering.  To finish off this look, I apply my Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl.  This is a lovely pink gloss that I have shared with you all recently. Layered over Coachella Coral really brings out the pink undertones of the lipstick and transforms the look into a pretty delicate pink.  For this particular look I applied the gloss all over the lips, but you could also just dab a little into the centre to enhance what you have and create the illusion of fuller lips.

This set is priced at £49.00 and is available exclusively from Charlotte Tilbury online.  The items are also available separately. The finish is appropriate for any occasion and looks just as pretty worn every day as it does for a special occasion. I absolutely love every item I have used here, and each one works well when used with other makeup I have.

Do you like the finish these products give? Have you tired these Charlotte Tilbury products? I would love to hear from you!

Charlotte Tilbury Portobello Girl Lip Lustre Review & Swatch | Lipstick Monday!

With the brighter days of Spring fast approaching (oh how I am looking forward to this!) I decided to break from my usual tradition of wearing a lipstick and wear a lipgloss. Yes thats right, a lipgloss alone with no lip liner or lipstick! Quite a change for me, but what better product to use than Charlotte Tilbury Portobello Girl.  A lovely high gloss pink that looks lovely over lip products and just as pretty on its own!

The Charlotte Tilbury lip lustre is perfect for a wide range of ages as it creates the optical illusion of youthful fuller lips.  I applied lip lustre in the morning just as I was leaving the house.  It did not leave me with the feeling one usually has when wearing lip gloss, in fact I actually found it to be quite hydrating and soothing which is quite unexpected. The Lip Lustre did not last past my first drink in the office, but with the colour being so natural it was easy to re-apply at my desk without using a mirror!

I have rather full lips, but would recommend this gloss if you want to achieve the look of fuller lips. You could try dabbing a little in the centre of your lip to add some dimension.

You can purchase the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl for £16.50 from Charlotte Tilbury counters and online. I plan to do a tutorial soon on how I achieve the ‘perfect pink lip’ using this lip gloss and my Coachella Coral lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury. These two products work so well together, but its lovely to know they work well on their own too!

Have you tried Portobello Girl Lip Lustre? Do you have a favourite lipstick to wear it with? I would love to hear from you!

Rosie For Autograph at Marks & Spencer Makeup Haul

As you can see, I have been a rather busy girl lately! I have fallen in love with the Rosie for Autograph collection at Marks & Spencer. Every item from the range is totally wearable and a real pleasure to do so too. The on-trend rose gold packaging makes this every bit as pretty in the makeup bag as it does on the face. I decided to treat myself to a few things and have been so excited to share with you my new products!

First up is the eyeshadow palette in Copper Gold Rush. As you can see from the images below, this particular palette has lovely rosy bronze hues and is very reminiscent of the Naked Palette 3.

The palette contains 4 x 2.5mg of product and is priced at £18.00. The eyeshadows are so easy to blend and a real joy to use.  How pretty is the rose detail embossed on the brown shade?

I also treated myself to the Starstruck Highlighter in Get The Glow. This is not a product that I would usually be drawn to but after watching the Lisa Eldridge tutorial on YouTube, I decided this was worth a try. You get 5g of product for £15.00. I use this product after I have applied all of my makeup to highlight my cheekbones, and also use a little on my cupids bow to accentuate my lips. It is not often a products comes into my life that makes me wonder how I ever lived without it – but this is definitely one of them!   You can apply the product straight fro the tube, or by using a brush. Either way gives a lovely finish and for me, is the stand out product from the collection.

I am sure you all know by now that I am more of a lipstick girl than a lip gloss girl, but I have been really enjoying using my Charlotte Tilbury lip glosses recently so  thought the Lip Glossy pencils deserved a try.  They are perfect for those who want an effortless look that makes you look very polished and well put together.  I chose two colours that are very different.  Super Model Smile which is a very natural rose hue and Lights, Camera Action which is a glossy red that is perfect for giving that pop of colour without looking too done. These lip glosses are similar to that of a Clinique Chubby Stick and give a moisturising high shine. They are priced at £12.50. I love the finish these give – they are so soft and delicate yet not lost on the lips like some glosses can be.

Finally, I couldn’t resit these two lipsticks in Lady Rose (left and top) and Camisole Blush (right and bottom).  Perfect ‘my lips but better’ shades.  They are lovely to wear in both colour and feel on the lips.  They almost feel like they melt into my lips and provide a cushion like texture.  Like with the eyeshadow, I am particularly taken with the rose embossed on the bullet! A small finishing touch that makes these lipsticks a little touch of affordable luxury for every day of the week! The lipsticks are priced at £14.00 each.

So there we have it.  A little look into the new Rosie for Autograph range at Marks & Spencer. One could say, I am utterly hooked!

Have you tried any of these colours or products? I would love to hear from you if you have!

Beauty Tutorial : How I Enhance My Lips Using Charlotte Tilbury

How I enhance my lips Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect Lipstick Pillow Talk Lip Cheat High Society Lipgloss Review Swatch

Beauty is all about working with what we have.  Thats why I love any products that allow me to look like me… but the very best version of me , of course!

I make it no secret, I have been loving Charlotte Tilbury lately. She makes products that allow you to look naturally pretty. I have been playing around with these three products over the last week and love each item individually but when put together they achieve a beautiful polished lip that is like nothing I have tried before.

The images above show (left) my natural lip and (right) my Charlotte Tilbury lip.

I achieve this natural ‘my lips but better’ look by using:

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk £16.00

Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick £23.00

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in High Society £16.50

I start as I do before applying any lipstick. If you want your lips to look the very best they can, always start by smoothing a layer of lip balm over the entire lip.  This helps to prevent any rough patches and in turn helps with the longevity of your products.

I then use Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat to (quite literally!) Re-Shape and Re-size my lips as it promises to! I gently line my lips and then shade them in.  This is a modern way of applying a lip liner and prevents the Posh Spice look that was so popular in the 90’s! Applying this way will ensure that the lipstick does not fade during the day leaving you with lined lips.

When you are happy with the Lip Cheat, take your lipstick in shade Bitch Perfect and apply over the top.  You can use a lip brush if you prefer but on this particular occasion I applied straight from the bullet.

If you prefer a softer look then you can stop here.  By applying the Charlotte Tilbury High Society Lip Lustre you achieve a polished finish with a high gloss shine.  If you want to create the illusion of a fuller pout then apply the lip lustre to the centre of the bottom lip only.  This helps give a focal point to your lips and the shine you get from the light hitting the centre only makes lips look voluptuous!

I hope you enjoyed reading the first ‘How To’ post from Pretty Honest! I hope you found this useful and if you are looking for some products to create the very best version of yourself then perhaps you may consider these.

Have you tried these Charlotte Tilbury products? Can you recommend any other combinations for me to try? I would love to hear from you all!
